Unfortunately, I am among the Americans who felt he had no choice but to place his elderly father with behavioral problems into a long-term care facility. Dad lived in several of them during his final days.
I wish I could say some nice things about them – unfortunately, I can’t. Low wages and difficult working conditions mean the market doesn’t attract many quality workers. Sure, there are those who do what they do out of love for the patients and residents; but there also are those who do what they do for a paycheck that doesn’t bring home much more than one makes flipping burgers at McDonald’s.
Here’s my portfolio of paid writing work in the field of elder care. Please click on the hamburger menu in the upper right hand corner of the page to see my other portfolios, which include writing samples on addiction/recovery, public health, mental health, and celebrity interviews.
